AST Technology GmbH specialises in comprehensive support services that are tailored to assist OEM customers with the tools they need to optimise cost, quality and delivery of injection mould building and plastic part production. Services include:

• Component Design for Manufacturing (DFM) – helps support the design development process by providing DFM review services. Tooling and moulding equipment, product cost and capacity estimations, as well as custom processes and templates can be developed.

• Standard Tooling & Engineering – AST performs tool design reviews to ensure the best possible tool quality. Review & development of complete customer owned tool standards and tooling requirement specification (TRS) is included.

• Process Development & Optimisation – Testing and development of new moulds as well as full process optimisation through the use of audits, Design of Experiments, and Process Tolerance Studies, plus full mould / process documentation is conducted. Product and component assessments are also provided.

• Trouble Shooting – AST customers often use a combination of DFM, tool design reviews and injection moulding process optimisation for analysing and resolving existing problems in production. This can either be performed remotely or on-site in the production environment with “hands on” processes.

• Training – AST performs assessments on product designs, tooling and injection moulding processes to establish and implement improvements with training support. Tailored training is provided to customers across all areas of plastics technology, from introductory to advanced levels and for processors, engineers and managers of all skill levels.

AST’s customer base includes mould builders, moulders and OEM’s in such industries as Medical, Mobile Phones, Consumer Electronics, Packaging, Automotive and Household products.

Global Operations
AST Technology is based in Herford, Germany, with staff also located in the UK. AST engineers frequently travel in the EU, USA and Asia conducting specialist training, component DFM support, and tooling development and standardization throughout its customers’ global manufacturing networks.
